Samenspannen

Het lijkt wel of alles af moet, trouwens dat is ook zo. Saskia kwam zaterdagochtend om te helpen met spannen en sandwichen. Geweldig daar was ik blij mee,dat is het vervelenste klusje, een rugpijn en blaren klus. We hebben er twee gedaan,dus voorlopig heb ik genoeg te quilten. Tussendoor kan ik aan Leanne'House BOM werken, dus even geen nieuwe projecten er bij voor mij.Dit in tegenstelling tot Heidi, die graag aan een nieuwe uitdaging begint...


I feel the need, to finish all of my UFO's and WIP's. Saskia came over last saturday to help me sandwich. I think it's one of the most unpleasant tasks to do. It gives me backpain and blisters. But we did two, so for now I have more than enough to quilt. Between those two projects to quilt, I can work on the leanne's house BOM. For me no more new projects to start. Heidi instead loves a new start,right Heidi?!

Nieuwe uitdaging. (new Challenge)

Een nieuw jaar en een nieuw project,Leanne's House.
Heb nog even getwijfeld of ik er wel aan zou beginnen omdat er best nog aardig wat UFO's liggen.
Toch de knoop maar doorgehakt en lapjes bij elkaar gesprokkeld en begonnen met borduren,hardstikke leuk om te doen!
Intussen ook een kleine weddenschap met Heidi en Saskia om de nodige UFO's af te maken, ik stort me op VIER UFO's en zal wel zien hoe ver ik kom.
Ga nu maar gauw beginnen.

The start of a new year, means a new project. Leanne's House BOM.
I wasn't sure if I would start this project, just because I have a lot of UFO's and WIP's.
But I couldn't resist, so I gathered some of my fabrics and started with the stitchery. I enjoy it!
And I made a bet with Heidi and Saskia to finish some of those UFO's. I try to finish 4 of my UFO's. So I have to start and work, work, work!

Toch nog even wat foto's in kerstsfeer.
De notenkrakers zijn een hobby van mijn husband,maar ik vind ze ook erg leuk hoor!
Mijn liefde zijn de Little Angels van Willow Tree.
Soms denk ik nu is het genoeg,maar rond deze tijd begint het weer te kriebelen, er kan nog meer bij.
En dan de Quiltshop ,die moet je als quiltster toch ook in huis hebben??
Tot slot het kleine kerkje van tiffany als eyecatcher en dan nog verschillende kerstquilts, heel gezellig allemaal.
Dan wens ik iedereen nog hele fijne dagen,en een gezond en creatief 2010.

A few photo's of my favorit christmas things. The nutcrackers are collected by my dear Husband. But I love them too. The willow Angels bij the little Tiffany church are collected by me. Every year I think, I have enough, but them with the christmas spirit and all, well.... there's always room for more! I started with a photo of a little quiltshop in Christmas style, My two favorit things together in one house, how great is that? And you can't see them, but there are a few christmasquilts hanging in my house too. I wish for everyone a creative and healthy 2010!

Met al mijn foto's kan ik niet achterblijven.
Saskia heeft voor mij ook een slideshow gemaakt. Enne..., dit is nog maar de helft van de foto's!

I couldn't stay behind, made a lot of pictures. So Saskia made a slideshow for me.

terug van vakantie. (back from vacation)

Samen met mijn dochter op vakantie bij mijn schoonzus in La Porte Texas.
En gelijk twee dagen de Quiltshow in Houston onveilig gemaakt,GEWELDIG!
Ik kan niet alle foto's eropzetten dat zijn er te veel maar deze hebben mijn voorkeur.

Back from 2 weeks of vacation in La Porte Texas. I was there to visit my sister in law and combined it with 2 full days of attending the Houston Quilt festival. I was there with my daugther Saskia.



De quilt van het negerjongentje is gemaakt door Janneke de Vries uit Friesland,schitterend
Mijn favoriet is de deur met herfstbladeren.

The quilt with the little boy is made by Janneke de Vries from Friesland (Holland). I think it is a great piece of art!
My favorit of all was the door with all the red leaves.



De palmboom en de zon'sopgang was het uitzicht vanuit mijn bed,niet te geloven hé.
The palmtrees and the great sunset where the view from my bed, can you believe that?



Natuurlijk zijn er ook de nodige lapjes mee naar huis gekomen ,en daardoor heb ik de weddenschap met Saskia verloren...
Ik zou niets kopen had niks nodig alleen maar zwart,maar daar ging ik toch de mist in voor een nieuw project.
Jammer dan, de smoes is goed!.. Ik ga ze lekker gebruiken Het heeft me een alleen een "yard fabric" gekost.

And there where some fabrics that went home with me.., I only would buy black fabric, nothing else. Well... There are more yards and there aren't black.
Ít's for a new project in the new year. I lost the bet i had with Saskia, and she won a yard of fabric.

Een mix van blokken.

Dit valt niet mee om hier een geheel van te maken,12 blokken typical dutch,en 12 blokken gemaakt door american ladies,en dit moet dus een top worden vandaar deze USA\NED mix op de grond ,lijkt het wat?? ik laat het wel een poosje liggen dan kan ik er af en toe naar kijken misschien word het nog wat.De klein steen op het tafeltje heeft wel een hele bijzondere vorm,een hartje van steen,zo zie je maar hart voor de natuur.

It's a challenge to mix all these blocks together. It's the result of a block swap with 12 lady's from the quiltgroup and 12 lady's from the USA.
So how to you like it so far?
I think i will let them lay down on the floor, so I can look at it now and then.
The little heart on the table is something from nature, a heart of stone. Mother Nature can be creative too!

Terug van weggeweest. (home again)

Tijd geleden dat ik wat heb laten horen,veel gedaan en veel gebeurd.Zoals je ziet is het lastig Quilten met zo'n vinger,tijdens het bedverschonen pees gescheurd van mijn middelvinger,dus nu gespalkt voor 6 weken of langer.Toch gelukt om een zakjeskrans in elkaar te prutsen,erg leuk geworden maak er vast nog een,ook is het gelukt om nog 4 blokken voor mijn centennial te maken,het gaat niet makkelijk maar kan gelukkig toch nog wat doen.Hoop dat mijn vinger desondanks toch goed geneest.



It's a long time ago since I blogged. Lots of things happend, like a vacation to spain, family came over from the USA for a visit, and a little accident.
It's difficult to quilt with a finger like mine. I ruptured a tendon in my finger, when making the bed.
So I have to keep it in a splint for 6 weeks or longer to make sure it heals well.
But I managed to make a wreath and 4 block of my sentennial sampler.
