Even wat anders.

Ben op het moment even niet met Quilten bezig.
Kwam dit patroon bij Stofnest tegen en was direct verkocht.Geloof, Hoop, en Liefde, dat heb ik op dit moment erg hard nodig. Mijn lijf en geest heeft op dit moment erg veel te verduren door de behandeling van uitgezaaide borstkanker in mijn botten,dus probeer hier energie en troost uit te halen.
Normaal ben ik niet zo'n borduurster,maar dit is heerlijk om te doen.
Het is bijna af, en dan nog een passende lijst eromheen.
Daarna kan ik weer verder met quilten.
My mind is not with quilting lately, because of me fighting the metastatic in my bones due to breastcancer. I came across this striking cross stitch patern from Stofnest and had to make it. Faith, Hope and love is what I need right now!
I try to get some energy and comfort out of making this cross stitch.
It's almost finished, than I have to find a perfect frame for it. I hope after that I can do something with quilting again.

Eerste UFO klaar. (first UFO of this year)

En dit is dan de eerste van mijn VIER UFO'S die ik dit jaar af wil hebben.Voor het eerst met de Quilt as you go methode en dat is mij goed bevallen.De Amerikaanse en Nederlandse blokken heb ik door elkaar gemikt,daardoor werd het minder somber. De achterkant heb ik als een bollenveld met allemaal verschillende stofjes gemaakt. Ruimt zo lekker op. Nu nog drie te gaan,dus zoals het spreekwoord zegt,niet.........maar breien.

The first UFO of this year is finished. I want to finish 4 quilts, so I have lots to do. This one is the Dutch/USA swap. I just mixed both country's together. It made it more bright and light. The back of this quilt is like a Dutch tulip field. Lots of different colors. So one down, 3 to go! Back to quilting again.

Bloemenmand. (flower basket)

Leuk om een patroon een beetje te verbouwen zodat het iets eigens is geworden.De bloemen en de vlinder heb ik ooit eens geleerd op een japanse workshop.
I like it to mold a quilt into my own. The flowers and butterfly are a japanese technique I learned at a workshop.
Ik weet nog niet of dit blok er naast of er onder komt,want het geheel word wel weer erg groot.
I'm not sure if this third block will be next to the second. Maybe I change the lay-out, because I don't want the quilt to be to large.
Ik ben niet zo'n quiltster, het patchen gaat me beter af.
I'm not that perfect quiltster, I like creating the quilttops better.
Maar de lente mag van mij nu wel komen, de winter heeft lang genoeg geduurd!

Well, back to the Holland/America quilt, It's almost finished!

Dagje Zwolle. ( on a rainy day)

Een natte Zondag,maar die hebben wij(Heidi,Saskia, Joanne en ik zei de gek)gezellig doorgebracht op de handwerkbeurs in Zwolle.De dag begon al goed,Saskia had zich verslapen en daardoor konden we bij Jos en Heidi eerst genieten van een lekkere kop koffie.Toen zijn we verrast met cadeautjes door Heidi en Saskia,sorry Sas de bonbons waren al op,erg lekker.We hebben heerlijk lopen snuffelen en inslaan natuurlijk.Het is mij ook nog gelukt het tweede blok van ons project af te krijgen,dus ben ik weer best tevreden over mijzelf.


On a rainy sunday 4 crazy girls went to a craft show. Saskia overslept, so we could enjoy a cafe latte at Heidi and Jos. Before we left, Heidi and Saskia surprised us with gifts. A Fob and a goodiebag. Well the chocolat goodies are gone now Saskia..
At the craft show we had a blast, lots to see and lots to buy. And I'm proud to say that I finished the second block of our project. So I'm a pretty happy content girl.

Is het wat geworden? (well, what do you think?)

Het was een gezellige dag vandaag met de Four Patches,en dit is het resutaat van onze Row Robin in het vierkant.Altijd weer spannend wat een ander aan jou quiltje zet en dan bedoel ik vooral de kleuren.Daarom heb ik hem opgehangen over een andere quilt ,nu kan ik het goed op mij in laten werken wat er verder nog bij of af moet.Suggesties zijn altijd welkom,ik ben er nog niet uit.

We, the Four Patches had a girly good day! Look at the results of our first row robin. Always scarry to give you heart away, never know what will happen to it. The same with my spring medallion, it's colorfull, but I do not know what I feel about it. Don't know how to go on with this, binding, applications, hmmm. What do you think?

Hoezo verwennen. (spoiled??)

Af en toe moeten we wel eens oppassen,nou,af en toe,Rover is eigenlijk een deeltijd hond.Daar heeft hij echt geen bezwaar tegen hoor,gezien de zware baan die hij heeft.Bij ons kan hij lekker uitrusten,en zich laten verwennen zoals je ziet.Het appeltje geschild en in stukjes aan gereikt.Erg relaxed,zelfs voor het baasje.Hoezo hondenleven!!!!!




Rover is the black furry friend of Saskia. But once in a while( well.... more than once) he brings his pillow over to our house.
He has a busy job, going to work, entertaining the elderly in the nursinghome. So when he is at our place, he's taken care of in a big way. And of course there's food. Healthy food, like an apple. Cut in pieces. So relax Rover! It's a dogs live....

Dammit Doll. (MePOP)

Wat is dit toch een leuk project,ik kan er niet van afblijven de hartjes zitten er al op en de stofjes uitgezocht.Of het dit word weet ik nog niet,soms blijf ik schuiven maar nu kan ik weer lekker borduren.En hoe vinden jullie mijn nieuwe aan winst,mijn meppop, gekregen en gemaakt door Saskia.Daar kan ik mijn frustratie mee wegmeppen.Eigenlijk hoop ik hem niet te gebruiken hij is zo leuk,touwens,Saskia heeft er al een stuk gemept,ik laat wel weten als hij gesloopt is.


I really like this project. I couldn't wait to start block two. I made the first part of the second block, the hearts. I keep moving the fabrics around, not sure if this will be it. Well, first I have to do some stitchery. I got a Dammit Doll yesterday. Saskia made it, so I can let my frustrations out. I hope this one will stay together. Saskia killed one already..
