Weer 'n jaar ouder.

Dat krijg je als je op Zondag jarig bent en je verjaardag viert,druk, maar heel erg gezellig.Maar ondertussen heb ik ook niet stil gezeten,zoals gehoopt is mij charm top klaar en kan hem a.s.Woensdag meenemen om te showen.Erg leuk om te doen en misschien maak ik nog wel een andere,heb alweer een idee,maar eerst EEN ufo.



That happens when youre birthday is on sunday. A lot of people came, so it was busy.
But it was plesant. Meanwhile I worked on my charmquilt last week, and I finished the top.
So Wednesday I will take it to the quiltbee for a show and tell. I had fun making this charmtop, maybe I make another one because I have new ideas. But first there is an UFO I have to finish.

Dit is leuk werk dat geschuif met lapjes,en inmiddels heb ik lapjes genoeg om mijn charm in elkaar te zetten.Het is een kleurrijk geheel geworden en ben benieuwd naar het resultaat.Probeer de top af te krijgen voor a.s.Woensdag,intussen kan ik nog aan een andere Ufo werken waar ik volgens mij al heeeeeeeeeeel lang mee bezig ben ,dat ding komt nooit af heb er eigenlijk ook geen zin meer in dus toch maar zin maken.




This is fun! Moving around with my charms, and see if everything will fit together with the different colors. I can't wait untill it's sewn together. I give it a try, maybe the top will be finished by the next quiltbee.
Meanwhile, I can work on a different UFO. It's a UFO that I work on for ever.
I don't like it that much now, but I have to finish it.

Het oerwoud van Annie. (Annie's forest)

Ik kan dit rustig op mijn blog zetten want Annie weet niets van mijn blog.
Het tweede quiltje in onze quilt estafette heb ik klaar.
Toen ik het quiltje van Annie kreeg zag ik gelijk voor me hoe de border moest worden. Annie zag me glimmen en vroeg waar ik op aan het 'broeden' was.
Ik heb haar wel verteld dat ik het al voor ogen had, maar niet precies hoe het zou worden.
Volgens mij ziet het er aardig uit, die streepjes in de stof lopen golvend. Het maakt het net als een bospaadje.
En die Afrikaanse huisjes zijn geappliceerd, waardoor ik het maar 'het oerwoud van Annie' heb genoemd.
Deze opdracht hoefde pas rond augustus af te zijn, maar de inspiratie was er, en af is af toch?
Ik kan nu weer verder aan mijn charmquilt, en ook die loopt als een trein.


There is no need to hide this project. It's the second quilt from my round robin quiltgroup and made for Annie. Annie is not a computerperson, so she can't see my blog. I knew right from the first sight what I wanted to do with the border. Annie noticed my 'happy face' and wanted to know why I was smilling. I told her, I would not have a problem to make this border. But I dind't tell her exectly what my ideas where. I'm happy with the result, and I love the fabric. It has little stripes that wave, so it looks like a wood path. The African houses are perfect on the corners. So it inspired me to call it "Annies forest"
This had to be finished by august, but I was so inspired that I worked first on this project. and done is done.
I can work on my charmquilt now, and that project is going fine also.

Quilt Bee bij Olivier.

Wat was dat gezellig afgelopen Donderdag,een show and tell in een Belgische kroeg in Utrecht.De eerste border om onze estafette quilt,jammer genoeg had niet iedereen een foto gemaakt dus kan ik alleen de foto van Berthe's Quiltje laten zien.Maar iedereen was erg blij met het resultaat,nu moet ik om Annie's Quiltje de volgende border zetten,heb al een idee en zin om te beginnen.Olivier is een aanrader,gezellig en lekker geluncht.Kijk maar eens op hun website. en klik eerst op de locatie utrecht en daarna op kodak en je krijgt een sfeer van Utrecht.




It was so much fun last Thursday. We had a show and tell at a belgium bar in an old Church in Utrecht. Well, who can find that location...
The first border is finished, but the only picture I got is from the one I made.
Berthe made her house and I made the spools and heart border.
Now I have to work on Annie's quilt. I already have a great idea, so I'm ready to start. Olivier is a real great place to go to. You can take a look on there website. click on the location utrecht and click then on kodak. You will have a little taste of the sphere.

Een frisse start.

De laatste weken niet met quilten bezig geweest omdat ik behoorlijk last van mijn handen heb,maar lapjes uitzoeken dat was fun zowel voor mijzelf en medequiltsters.
Toch heb ik nog twee blokken voor de centennial sampler kunnen maken,het waren niet de makkelijkste,totaal zijn het er nu 21.en nog heel wat te gaan.

The last couple of weeks I couldn't work on my quilting projects . My hands giving me lots of troubles and pain.
But browsing through my fabrics and finding fabrics for the charmquilts my quiltingfriends are starting was lots of fun.
Slow but steady I'm working on my centennial sampler, and I finished two new ones. they were not easy to make. I have 21 blocks so far, still a lot to go...

opgeruimd

Allereerst iedereen een gezond 2009 gewenst,
Een nieuw jaar een nieuw begin,een charm quilt.
Mijn hoofd was net een mallemolen kon maar niet beslissen wat ik wilde doen.
Internet afgestroopt,en mijn oog viel op palette charm van Jinny Beyer.
Niet te groot en stofjes heb ik genoeg,komen die ook eens op.
Ben aan het tekenen geslagen en in mijn stofjeskast gedoken en dit is het resultaat.
Komen de oude lapjes ook eens op en alles is ook gelijk weer opgeruimd, ben benieuwd hoe het gaat worden.




First of all, A healthy 2009 everyone!
A new year, a new beginning. And the start of a charmquilt as theme of the quiltgroup. I couldn't make up my mind what to do. So on internet I came across a Jinny Beyer charm quilt. It's not to big, and I have lots of different colors of fabric so I'm gona use my stash. I started drawing and went through my fabrics. Cleaned out my cupboard and I'm ready to go now..

Ik ben een beetje teleurgesteld,al een jaar of acht versieren wij de centrale hal van ons apartement en daar hing ook altijd een kerstquilt van mij.We zijn met het versieren van de hal begonnen omdat er alleen maar een zielige kerstboom stond met een slinger lampjes. De reacties waren heel positief en men stimuleerde ons om dit jaarlijks te blijven doen. Daarom heb ik vorig jaar deze thimbleberrie gemaakt,ook om niet altijd dezelfde op te hangen,en tot groot genoegen van de mede flatbewoners.Maar wat blijkt nu deze lappen zijn oudbollig,en de kerstversiering moet soberder dus geen quilt aan de wand.Maar de meningen zijn verdeeld ,nu is het afwachten,mischien is de meerderheid groter we zullen wel zien.
I'm a little bit disappointed, for 8 years now we decorate the entrance of the condominum building. And as always we hang a big Christmas Quilt in the hall. We started to decorate the hall because there was only a pathetic little tree with some lights. The respons was positive and they asked us to continu it every year. So last year I started this thimbleberrie to have more difference in the Christmas Quilts. Most of the co-owners of the building are pleased with the decoration. But this year it all had to change. A few of the'younger' residents thought it was to 'oldfashion'. So no more 'rags' on the wall please was the request. Not everyone has the same opinion, so we wait and see what the majority wants.
The Christmas spirit of decoration is gone now, so this was the last year we volunteerd. And we kept it very sober.
