Centennial( Farmers Wife)

Dit zijn wat blokken van mijn Centennial Sampler en die ga ik verbouwen tot een Farmers Wife.  Dat klinkt gek,maar het zit al helemaal in mijn hoofd. Reken maar dat het leuk word.Ik denk dat het een Farmers Centennial Wife word. Ik zit hier een beetje onzin te kletsen , omdat Saskia mee zit te kijken via CrossLoop.  Wel een heel handig systeem hoor, dat iemand van afstand kan meehelpen. Mijn computer is namelijk een beetje eigenwijs, of ik niet zo handig. Dat kan ook LOL

This are a few blocks of my Centennial Sampler. I'm gonna make change it into Farmer's Wife. Sounds strange, but I can see it in my head.

I think it's going to be a great little quilt.. (well a great BIG quilt )

I'm talking a little bit funny too, because Saskia is on skype with me talking, and on CrossLoop with me, working my computer. I'm a late bloomer computer wise LOL

Alles weer normaal. (Back to normal)

De kerstboom ligt weer in de berging,de gordijnen hangen weer schoon voor het raam.
Dus we kunnen weer lekker prutsen.
Van Saskia kreeg ik met kerst een handgeborduurde speldenkussen met lintjes.
Aan deze lintjes komen iedere 6 weken na mijn APD infuus een bedeltje.
Dus ik hoop dat hij helemaal vol komt!!

The Christmas tree is put back on the shelf, the curtains are clean, the windows too.
So I'm ready to start being creative again.
This little pincushion i got as a Christmas present from Saskia. After every 6 weeks after my APD infusion I get a little bead to add on the cushion. I hope I can put a lot of beads on it!!

Het nieuwe project van de Quiltbee, is 'Farmers wife', maar dat verander ik in het afmaken van de Centennial UFO. Da's namelijk nog een hele klus.

The new Quilt project on the bee, will be 'Farmers Wife' but I will change that into finishing my Centennial sampler. That a whole project to finish.

Maar dat is nog niet alles, mijn nieuw project van de 4-patches, heb ik ook uitgewerkt.
Deze doe ik met halve hexagonnen, en de tekening geeft een beetje het idee wat het gaat worden.
Een mooi werkje voor onze vakantie in Spanje in Februari.

In deze vakantie gaan we kennis maken met onze kleindochters. Best spannend, we hebben ze nog nooit ontmoet.

And last but not least, I'm starting on the new projects of my other Quilt group 'the 4 patches'. It's a projects with half hexagons. The drawing shows how I picture it.
This project I can take with me, when we go to Spain in February. We are going to meet our granddaughters for the first time. So it's exciting, and we are looking forward to it.

Van alles wat ( chit chat)

Het is alweer een tijdje geleden dat ik iets op mijn blog heb gezet. Maar ik heb niet stilgezeten. Zoals ik al eerder verteld heb, ben ik bezig om al mijn UFO's af te maken. En dit is er eentje van.
Het is mijn Medallion Quilt. Het groepsproject van 2 jaar geleden.
Op deze link van Heidi's oude blog, kan je meer lezen over de start van het project.
Eerst was ik niet zo te spreken over mijn quiltwerk, en vond het niet helemaal strak eruit zien. Maar nu ben ik toch best tevreden!

It's been a while since my last post. But I worked hard on my UFO's. This is one of them, and I finally finished it!! It was a quilt from the quilt group theme, about 2 years ago. At Heidi's old blog you can read all about it, and see some of the other quilts from our quiltgroupgirls. I wasn't pleased about my quilting, thought it wasn't flat enough. But I made it a bit wet and let it dry flat on the floor. That helped a lot.

De label is een tekst in het engels over hoe de opbouw van de quilt is gemaakt. Het is een heel persoonlijke en dierbare quilt geworden.
Met de tekst goed op de label krijgen heb ik wat hulp gekregen van Saskia.
Deze is klaar, nog maar 3 te gaan!!

The label is in English, and it tells more about the blocks and why I made this quilt like it is.
I made a transfer with the computer, and printer on fabric. But I got a little help from Saskia.
So one down, three more to go!!


Ondertussen ben ik ook op een andere manier met naald en draad bezig geweest.
Er moest een kerstkado komen voor mijn Secret Sister op de quiltgroep. Ik heb een speldenkussen gemaakt die uit verschillende lagen bestaat. Het is een soort van vintage speldenkussen geworden.

Meanwhile I was using my needle and thread on another project. I had to finish a present for my secret sister too. Last wednesday we had our Christmas party with all the quilt group members.
I made a vintage pincushion. 


En in plaats van een kerstkaartje, heb ik kersthangertjes voor in de boom zitten borduren.
Een leuk en snel werkje wat je zo savonds bij de koffie zo weg prikte.
Nog maar een kleine week en dan is het alweer kerst. Voor die tijd hoop ik nog een berichtje te schrijven.


And instead of Christmas cards I made a little cross stitch tree hanger. It was fun and fast to make.
Still less than a week to go, and then it's Christmas again. I hope to post another blog before that.

Even bijkletsen ( chit chat)

Wat heb ik genoten van *Een vesting vol Quilts*en ook van de locatie. Er was duidelijk zorg aan besteed.
En ik ben toch wel apentrots dat mijn quiltje op zo'n mooi plekje mocht hangen,ik zit nog na te genieten! Saskia had ém ook snel gevonden...I just enjoyed the quilt show in Woudrichem. All the quilts were cared for, and were carefully displayed. I felt a little bit proud that one of my quilts had a little spot between almost 400 quilts. I'm still floating.. LOL Saskia found went to the show too, and found it..

En dit was mijn favoriete quilt ,wat een werk en wat een mooie kleuren.
This one is my favorite, I just love the colors and there was a lot of work put into it.

Maar intussen heb ik zelf ook niet stil gezeten. Ben bezig met kleine werkjes voor kerst,maar daar kan ik nog niets van laten zien 'tis een verrassing...
In the meanwhile I'm working on little Christmas gifts. I can't show you this right know, because some lady's read my blog.

Vandaag heb ik een gesprek met mijn oncoloog gehad. De behandeling slaat goed aan,de metastase is rustig en stabiel dus zielsgelukkig naar huis en over zes weken zien we wel weer. Kwaliteit van leven is kwaliteit van denken nietwaar??
And I'm happy to say that I had good news from my oncologist. She told me the treatment is doing his job, the metastasis is quiet and stable. SO, we were floating home on a set of extra wings!! The next treatment is over 6 weeks. The quality of live is the quality of thinking, don't you think??

Weer wat af & quiltshow.

Ziezo,mijn ugly is af. Eigenlijk is hij niet zo erg lelijk maar het is toch niet mijn eigen ding. Altijd lastig als je met een row robin meedoet.
Wel, I finsihed my 'UGLY' But it didn't turn out that ugly as I thought it would be. It's not the quilt I had in mind when I started with this row robin, but that's part of the game when you decide to join a row robin.
Ook mijn borduurwerkje is klaar,ingelijst en wel. Dus weer twee projecten af. Ben best tevreden met het resultaat.
I made a little cross stitch sampler, (I can't find the blog from the lady who made the patern)framed it, and it's now on the wall in my house. I glad I finished two projects.So far, so good!

Wat ik erg leuk vind om te vertellen is dat ik gisteren naar Woudrichem ben geweest om een Quilt weg te brengen voor de tentoonstelling"Een vesting vol quilts". De tentoonstelling is te zien van 15 tot en met 24 October. Het is een aanrader want er zijn meer dan 400 quilts te bewonderen door het hele plaatsje heen. De tentoonstelling is georganiseerd door de quiltwinkel 'Schering & Inslag' ter gelegenheid van hun eerste lustrum.Het is een erg leuk winkeltje wat ernaast een restaurant heeft. Ze zijn ook op zondag geopend. Dus dames, sleep de mannen mee, stal ze in het restaurant en ga heerlijk rondneuzen. Ik 'hang' er tussen met de quilt 'holland-amerika lijn'. Wie weet komen we elkaar daar tegen.

In October (from the 15th untill the 24th) there is a quiltshow hosted by this shop , they celebrate there first lustrum. I brought a quilt over, so I have a little spot between the more then 400 quilts, hanging all around the little town.

Long time ago.

Heel veel gedaan de laatste tijd,maar niet op mijn blog.Hoog tijd om weer een nieuw bericht te schrijven.
Eigenlijk heb ik veel te veel projecten, ( in de ogen van Saskia en Heidi is dat niets...) maar ik wil nu toch wat ik heb eerst afmaken. Daarna kan er iets nieuws op tafel komen.
Ik heb Joke's Huis kleiner gemaakt en zie hier het resultaat.
De hoeken in verstek moeten nog gestikt worden, daarna sandwichen en doorquilten.
Deze en nog 3 andere quilts die ik ook moet gaan quilten... Ik heb dus genoeg te doen deze zomer, herfst en winter!

Lots of things happend the last couple of weeks. not much time to blog though.
So now it's time to let you know where I worked on. I finished 'Joke's House'. Mine is only 4 blocks because I don't want any more large quilts. I have a lot of UFO's hanging around (not that many as Saskia and Heidi have, but still..)
This one now has borders, I have to sandwich and quilt this one, and 3 more.
I know what I have to do this summer, autum and winter LOL.
